Questions I hear from collectors before they buy. If yours isn’t here, email me and I’ll answer within 24 hours.
How do I know the sculpture will fit my space?
I can help you check scale before you commit. Send me:
- A photo of the wall or floor where you’re thinking of placing it
- Measurements (wall width, ceiling height, or floor footprint)
I’ll send back a rough mockup or tell you if the piece will overwhelm or disappear in the space.
For outdoor work, I need to know: sun exposure, wind exposure, and whether you’re anchoring to concrete, soil, or a deck.
What’s included when I buy a piece?
- The sculpture, signed and dated
- Professional crating (for pieces over 24″)
- Shipping insurance
- Installation specifications (weight, mounting requirements, clearances)
- Finish care instructions
- Provenance documentation (Certificate of Authenticity)
How does shipping work?
My inventory manager arranges shipping after purchase. You’ll get:
- A shipping quote
- Professional crating for anything fragile or over 24″
- Tracking information
- Full insurance during transit
Shipping timeline: 1-3 weeks domestic, 3-6 weeks international (depends on customs).
For large or heavy pieces, I can recommend art riggers in your area for installation.
What if it arrives damaged?
Full insurance covers transit. If something arrives damaged:
- Document it with photos before unpacking further
- Contact me immediately
- I’ll file the claim and either repair, remake, or refund
Can I return a piece?
Yes, within 3 days of delivery if the piece doesn’t work in your space. You cover return shipping and insurance. Full refund once I receive it in the same condition it left the studio.
Commissioned work is final sale.
Do you offer payment plans?
For pieces over $5,000, yes. 50% deposit to hold a specific piece and the remainder before shipping is arranged. For larger commissions, we can structure payments around milestones (deposit, design approval, fabrication start, completion).
How do I care for the finish?
Depends on the finish:
Mild Steel (unfinished): Will patina and rust naturally. If you want to slow that, apply clear wax annually. If you want the rust, leave it alone.
Powder coat or industrial paint: Wipe with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners. Outdoor pieces may need touch-up every 5-10 years in harsh climates.
Polished / brushed finishes: Wipe with microfiber cloth. For outdoor placement, expect natural weathering.
I send specific care instructions with every piece.
How do I install it?
Pedestal pieces: Sit directly on a surface. Make sure the surface can handle the weight (I’ll tell you the exact weight).
Wall-mounted pieces: I provide mounting specs (french cleat, stud requirements, weight distribution). Most collectors hire a handyman or art installer.
Outdoor / monumental work: Requires anchoring. I provide specs. You’ll need a rigger or contractor for installation.
Are the sculptures unique?
Yes. Each piece is fabricated by hand in my Texas studio.
Some works exist in small editions (usually under 10) with variations in scale or finish. I’ll always tell you if it’s an edition or unique.
What’s your commission process?
Covered in detail on my Commission page. Short version:
- 30-minute call about site, scale, budget, timeline
- Concept sketches or mockup
- Deposit holds your place
- Fabrication (timeline depends on scale)
- Shipping and installation coordination
