Let Your Ideas Fly #1

Kinetic, Shaped Steel, Industrial Paint (top), Power Coat (base) — 2024

“Let Your Ideas Fly #1” is an interactive exploration of negative space and kinetic movement. As the individual forms are moved, the composition changes, presenting a constantly evolving experience depending on the viewer’s perspective.

This work is part of the “Arrangement” series exploring the interplay of human connection. This series, with “Purpose in Chaos” as a starting point, explores the dance between shape, connection, and pattern-making.

The sculpture invites the viewer to collaborate by manually moving each kinetic element, creating a new composition. Prompting  discovery and hopefully, introspection on how we relate to each other and the space we inhabit.

The original design for this piece is inspired by a work I made in 1981, pictured below.
