Purpose in Chaos

Shaped Steel, Industrial Paint — 2024 — Awarded 1st place — 2024-2025 Georgetown Sculpture Tour

My artistic practice revolves around the interplay of human connection, reflected in the “Arrangement” series. This series, with “Purpose in Chaos” as a starting point, explores the dance between shape, connection, and pattern-making. The sculptures invite the viewer on a journey of discovery, prompting introspection on how we relate to each other and the environment we inhabit.

“Purpose in Chaos” itself is a playful composition of abstract forms. These elements connect, rotate, and stack, presenting a constantly evolving experience depending on the viewer’s perspective. Every shift in position reveals a new intersection of lines, shapes, and shadows. My life has always been driven by purpose, even when I was struggling to understand what that meant for me. Periods of chaos have led to clarity and focus, resulting in new energy of play in my work. Shifting perspectives meant shifting my thoughts and understanding of my reality, a constantly evolving journey.
